About the Development Trust

English Martyrs' Development Trust is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission. It exists to provide educational opportunities exclusively for students of English Martyrs' Catholic School, a Voluntary Academy, Leicester. The charity aims to provide the funds to ensure that students of English Martyrs' can take part in opportunities over and above what is provided in regular lessons - ie extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities. It is run by a group of volunteers (the Trustees).

What We Do

The Trust pays for extra-curricular opportunities and activities. We recognise that there are many calls on the budget of the school and that this can put pressure on the funds available for extra-curricular opportunities especially in the arts (music, dance, drama, art, design), sports and other activities which help to develop young people and build their character.

The charity therefore seeks to make sure that subsidies are available so that our young people can take part in exciting performance; in sports training and fixtures; to go on retreat; to take part in outward bound activities; educational visits etc. The charity will also buy new equipment for the school and work to ensure that school facilities are continually enhanced.
