Last term, Schola Cantorum recorded a total of 9 tracks for our virtual school carol service with the help of fantastic sound engineers, Mark Wilde, Alex Warcaba-Wood and our English Martyrs’ Stage Crew.
Our accompanist for the evening was Aric Prentice. Mr Prentice not only provided us with his unparalleled skill as a pianist and organist, but also some stunning improvised harmonisations of Silent Night and Away in a Manger.
The tracks we recorded have been produced as an album entitled Puer Natus meaning 'A Child is Born'. The artwork you can see on this announcement was designed by our own Elena Edwards in Y12.
In these tracks you can hear our amazing Schola Cantorum perform together as an ensemble with solos from some of our A level and GCSE Music students; Baritones - James Upton and Nathan Booker, Sopranos - Erica Lees-Smith and Anna Cowen and Flute - Szymon Mosciszko.
We hope that you enjoy listening to our performances as much as we enjoyed recording them - this truly was a magical end to a challenging term.
